One recent bucolic afternoon basking on the windowsill...
Ah, sweet summer lub...
Sigh. I wish this moment would last forever. Thaaaat's it. A little more to the right.
Your other right, you worthless hairball! Yer mama! No, yer mama! No, yer...
It's funny. I can't get that Fleetwood Mac song out of my head. "Did she make you cry...make you break down...shatter your illusions of love?"
Life conspires that way. Also to highlight impermanence, but not always in ways that set the fur to flying. For example, yesterday morning my last three remaining applicants still had not heard one way or the other about their US visas. But this morning? Visafied!
It's official. Lama Erdenebat, Darisuren and Enkhtsetseg will form my posse for three weeks in the good ol' US of A. The anchor events are His Holiness Penor Rinpoche conferring empowerments at KPC Maryland, and performing the Kalachakra Initiation at the Palyul Retreat Center in McDonough, NY.
There'll be more, and I'll post details soon, but right now I gotta get offline and catch a call from my mama. That's right, I said my mama.

i loved the pics to this post. my cats do the exact same thing. jimi (it must be a male thing) will groom joplin (the female, older, and just a WEEEE bit grumpy) will sit there for about 5 minutes, then tries to kick the snot out of jimi. however, i have seen jimi antagonize her as well, lol.

I have been sitting here trying to come up with a wicked funny "Yo Mama" joke with a Buddhist twist, but I can't so I'll just say hi.
(And it's maybe a good thing the cats didn't get any more romantic. Would you have kept on taking pictures?)

the only think I can think of is the cat in Japanese lore with it's paw sticking up.
Oh wait, and "I got your loving kindness right here buddy!"

Well! Brother Franklin! How nice to hear from you again.
Fortunately, neither kitty is currently equipped for any advanced lubbin'. Hence, perhaps, the frustrated resorts to slap fights. I've never seen them really fight, though. Right now they're contentedly snoozing off breakfast, side by side.
The joke is easy, btw. You just say, "Yo Lama!"

Our two male cats had a nightly ritual that looked just like this...grooming seems like a prelude to attack for cats, not sure why or how that is! It was a joy to meet Nita and the Mooj in person. Yes, they really are as beautiful and happy in person!

I love you dearly for watching this interchange and coming up with Gold Dust Woman. Which is the name of that Fleetwood Mac song, which is burned into the very retinas of my soul, because I am of That Age. I much prefer the kitty version, angst-wise.

Our girls do the exact same thing, which is great fun when they're on your lap. Or, rather, David's lap, since they're really his girls and prefer his lap to mine. The boys just go from lick, lick, lick to wrestle, wrestle, wrestle. Boys will be boys, ya know.

Classic photo sequence! "Yo mama and all yer motherly sentient beings" just doesn't roll off the tongue does it!?
