As the title subtly suggests, I'm in transit at Incheon Airport in Seoul, pondering where exactly we've arrived in human evolution after I got served a Land O' Lakes product with my dinner roll called "Fresh Buttery Taste Spread." Swear.
I'm psyched for the last leg into Ulaanbaatar. Well, mostly. I checked my email and discovered there was going to be a large welcoming party at the airport. This show-off-y blog notwithstanding, nor my penchant for dressing in vivid red every single day, I actually prefer a large measure of anonymity in my life. I was kinda hoping to sneak in and go hug my kitties in private, but no way, man. That ain't the Mongol way. It's cool, tho. I do like having good friends there.
After I unpack and get my groove, I'll recap my adventures in America's Great Northwest, which I haven't had the time to unspool properly. I really fell in love with it, and have super-cool photos to share.
I gotta scoot for my gate now, but to delight your eyes in the meantime, dig this. A photographer named Nick Hall dropped me a line, with this link to his portfolio, which sports spectacular shots of Mongolia, including some of my friends at Erdene Zuu!

Safe trip back. Thanks for the link, I love the pictures.

I'm glad you liked the great North Wet. It's going to seem a bit quieter without you. Have a safe trip, and give those kitties a big hug from me.

Man, ya come to my town and I miss the party!
The Nick Hall photos made me gasp - they're truly stunning. One thing, though - why no names on the photos? That bugs me - instead of your friends by name, we have 3rd world development porn. Might as well be anonymous babies with flies on their eyes. What do you think?

Hi Janet -- I had similar thoughts, though I might not have put it quite as harshly as that. Nick got in touch with me for ideas on exhibit venues because he wants to use his photography to raise money to support the work at Erdene Zuu Monastery.
