Nice one, y’all. Bambi’s in the pink. Some parts of her literally:
Missy was already snuggled up in Oronoo's arms and met me with her rat tail wagging like wipers in a downpour. Dr. Glenn, the fabulous surgeon from Texas, exuded compassion and kindness as he gave us a gentle lecture on what happens when an injury is left untreated for a long time and the lengths he went to bringing bone and muscle in line. In short, they were already trying to heal, but in the wrong way and they needed a little scrapin' and wrasslin'. He seemed to have righted everything, pinned it all in place, sewed it up neatly and had us wondering if we should take Bambi out trick-or-treating as the Bride of Frankenfurter.
He also took the time to show us the physical therapy techniques necessary to get the thigh muscle working in the right direction, and loaded us up with painkillers, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and calcium supplements. We took Bambi to my pad, where she’s sleeping contentedly now. I showed Oronoo and Hazel how to administer the pills and then zipped out to get a cage (her movement has to be strictly limited for about two months), collar and leash, chow (which she ate like a wolverine), and a chew toy. Your donations came in quite handy and I’m grateful.
Oronoo is a wonderful mommy to Bambi and was willing to learn about the dizzying array of medicines, etc. Her daughter Solong was over the moon that we “made Bambi better.”
Others were fairly pleased with the day’s turnout, too:

Say, does it look to you like my hair’s thinning a little on top? Actually, what I look is over-caffeinated, which is possible, but really I'm wind-burnt. The wind chill was well below zero when I walked over the the clinic this morning (it's -11F as I type at 9:30pm).
Crashing at my place will be a temporary fix as Bambi and the cats are in a bit of a Mexican standoff and I’m heading down to the Gobi this Saturday. She’ll be well cared for at FPMT for a few days, and then by the nuns at Dolma Ling until she's well enough to go home and resume tearing up the yard with Solong. I'll miss her. She’s really the sweetest little pooch.
May all the Bambi's of the world be free of suffering and the causes of suffering.

Ok, I'll be the first on here to give you, and all the others, a big THANKS for helping out this little gal. I'm glad she is doing well! And, I certainly second your last setence and hope my hardest it becomes a reality. Thanks again Konchog.

You need to be putting a beanie on that bald little head of yours! Or we're all going to end up sending in money to pay for you pneumonia treatment!
Thanks for the 'after' pictures of Bambi. I still can't look at that xray without wanting to go in to screaming spasms.

That kind of cruelty is breathtaking - the driver kicking the puppy out - when a simple "keep the dog off the bus" would have worked JUST as well. Reminds me of that doggy saying - "Never bark where a simple growl will do." I was too late to donate for Bambi specifically but look forward to you getting the Tara's Babies Mongolia office into action. Blessings and patses to little Bambi. Are you outta coffee yet? Ever had Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee?
