There’s plenty to share with you and write about this week, but I’ve been feeling so out-of-sorts the past couple of days and in that condition, little of any value gets written. This morning I’m going out to my friends’ summer home on the outskirts of town (yes, I know it’s not summer; for heaven’s sake, as I type this at 9AM, it’s 5F/-15C outside – it’s autumn) for a bit of a mental health break. I’m gonna gorge on buuz, see what birds are still about (please, almighty Zeus, send me a White-backed Woodpecker), suck in a couple lungfuls of clean air (then go inside and thaw out my lungs), chat with my buds in front of the fire, nap, so forth.
Update: Birding last year's burn area in the valley above Nukht truly satisfied my winter woodpecker jones and yielded a gorgeous lifer, Eurasian Bullfinch, as well as a surprise newbie for the UB area, Siberian Accentor.
And just in case y’all need a mental health break of your own, here are a couple new shots of Little Miss Padma (not making the world’s most convincing case for her pregnancy; if things aren’t moving along by the end of the week, we’re marching back to the vet for a second opinion) luxuriating in yet another sunbeam. She look pregnant to you?
You're welcome. See ya in a day or two.

Thanks for giving the temperature in Celsius. For years, I always wondered what you meant in Farenheit.
Have a good time!

(Well it IS only one kitten) On the other hand, there was that whole gender confusion about Floki.... Maybe you should take her (him?) back to a vet!
